VAE & JULIE ELI

VAE AND JULIE ELI

YWAM-University of the Nations/YWAM SHIPS;
(A non profit volunteer missionary organization that is called “ To Know God And To Make Him Known”)

As many of you know, in our Bethel church family, Julie basically grew up in YWAM when her parents Peter and Donna Jordan from Bethel Church, went as missionaries to the South Pacific in 1976. Julie grew closer to Jesus while working with her parents as missionaries. I (Vae) became a born again Christian through YFC in Sāmoa while in high school in May 1981. I then joined YWAM in 1983. Julie and I first met in 1988. We fell in love in 1989 and got married in 1990, which some from Bethel family came to celebrate with us. We have continued to serve the Lord in missions as he has called us to with our four kids. Leilani our oldest princess, lives in Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada with her husband Usoalii with our grandson Jordan, who is two years old and our granddaughter who is due to be born in May 2021. Our second oldest son, Manuia, lives with his wife Gabriella in California. Our third oldest, Tavita Asotui, currently plays professional football for Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Canada, and our youngest princess, Hannah is studying business at Point Loma University in San Diego, California.
We are deeply grateful to God for the fact that each of our kids and their spouses love Jesus are all doing what they feel God is asking them to do at this season of their lives.
Julie and I, with our kids, have now served in YWAM for 37 years now.

Our Ministries involvement:
YWAM-UofN and YWAM-Ships Kona Hawaii; Julie and I are part of the board of directors, eldership, teachers, mentors, cross cultural advisors with Julie working with our pre-school that caters to our missionary children but mostly to the local Pacific Island community kids. We continue to minister to the Pacific Island communities and we also help with training some 2000 missionary trainees plus staff from around the world that come through our training in Kona, Hawaii each year.

Pacific Waʻa (A Ministry of YWAM): (Eradicating Bible Poverty in the Pacific. 400 languages still without a Bible in their mother tongue).
I work with our Pacific Waʻa Ministry which is a partnership of Bible translation ministries including; Wycliff Bible Translation, Campus Crusade, Jesus Film Ministries, Faith Comes By Hearing, Internet Bibles, Bible Translations Agency, Bible Tanslation Papua New Guinea, SEED Project, YWAM UofN, YWAM Ships, YWAM Papua New Guinea and a few others. The purpose of this partnership is to translate the Bible into their mother tongue and provide a Jesus Film for each of the 400 Bible-less languages in Melanesia by 2025. In the last seven years, we have translated Bibles and recorded the Jesus film into 150 languages throughout Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.

Indigenous2all Ministries Pacifica, US & Canada (A Ministry of YWAM):
We continue to lead our I2A ministries with the focus to raise up an international family of Indigenous peoples in the context of who they are and to see their expressions be released in worship to God while walking with, and serving together with the international body of Christ. We are currently praying with a few of our staff about re-launching the ministry in Alberta, Canada as we continue to reach the First Nations, Inuit, Metis, and Native American communities for Jesus.

Tribal Waves Montana (A Ministry of YWAM):
We are grateful to the Lord for the growth of Tribal Waves Flathead Reservation Ministries in Montana, led by our fearless Sāmoan Tribal chief, Misa Teleiʻai and his beautiful wife Rita with their three beautiful kids. Julie and I, with our team from Canada, helped pioneer this ministry 16 years ago and God is using them to bring transformation in the Reservations, churches and the communities in Montana and throughout the US.

YWAM Associates Pacifica (A ministry of YWAM):
We are honored to also help lead YWAM ASSOCIATES INTERNATIONAL in Canada and the Pacific with the focus to follow up, develop fellowship and prayer groups, and also discipleship amongst those that have been in missions. We are doing this by developing a safe place and a family atmosphere where individuals and families can come to pray, talk about how they are doing, and be with people they can trust as that share what is happening in their own journey. A huge part of this is to encouarge each of them while praying with them about whatever sphere of life God has called them to work.

Teaching and Preaching:
I continue with Godʻs grace to teach throughout the nations in our different missions and UofN training centers as we also minister with our teams in churches in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific Islands.

How Bethel can pray and support us?:
Please keep us in your prayers as we trust the Lord each month for our financial needs and for our ministries. God has been faithful in providing us with half of our monthly budget so far with sometimes last minute miracles of provision for so many years, but we continue to trust him for $3000 monthly to cover the rest of our living and ministry expenses plus our outreaches.

Thank you and much blessings:
We would like to thank our Bethel family and all our friends back in Montreal for your faithful prayers, financial support, your amazing hospitality and friendship thru the years. Julie and I, with our kids, are so humbled by your generosity and partnership in the ministry. We miss you and canʻt wait to see you soon Lord willing. We love you.
