WOLTHAUS

Henk & Irene Wolthaus

We rejoice and are thankful that we were able to make the transition back to Germany after 11 years In Ottawa, Canada.  We continue to serve under the umbrella of Operation Mobilisation.  We moved with a heart to see how the outreach ministry to International Students could also be established in Germany – and beyond. We saw how the Lord blessed it in Canada as it grew from a mustard seed into a tree.  It started in Ottawa and spread across cities in Canada and into 16 cities in the USA.  Please go to the Canadian website friendsfordinner.ca for more information. Here in Germany we have been making contacts with churches, young Christian students, and ex-OMers who have retired to join us.  This is in progress as we write.

We are also involved in reaching the Ukrainian refugees through humanitarian help.  Our Church has a top floor where we have been providing clothing and household items to meet them in their need. As I (Irene) know the language, I have been able to speak with the refugees who have been coming to find what they need, including bedding and towels, baby and children’s clothing. etc.

A Café for the Ukrainians has been organized also to reach them intentionally with the Gospel, providing fellowship and contacts.  Henk and I have started a committee of representatives from the churches in the region to see how we can continue to bring help and hope to the refugees within Germany, including finding housing, as well as directly getting food, clothing, medicine and literature to those in the Ukraine, and bordering countries.

Our son Samuel and his wife are pastoring a church 3 kms. away from us.  They have 3 very small children, Melia 3 yrs., Hannah 2 yrs., and Levy Hendrik almost 3 months.  This is also a joyful ministry of investing into these little grandkids.  We are involved in the life of the Church and supporting our family in their ministry in a young, vibrant, growing church.

We are very thankful to the Body of Christ at Bethel Community Church, for your faithfulness in support in prayer and financially over the many years.  We count it a great privilege to be in God’s Kingdom’s work- in reaching the nations at our doorstep and beyond.

With heartfelt thanks to all at Bethel Community Church,

Irene and Henk Wolthaus
